First thing I read about Forex was 'may involve significant risk of loss' - already scared off! I guess it's all a risk tolerance thing...you win big, but you lose big too...Tell me about your losses (!) if any...or did you make them all back?

Stock Markets and Foreign Exchange
by Sam Whiskey ini'm starting this thread for those of us that love the process and rewards of trading and investing.
contrary to popular belief, the markets are not rigged and no one is ever "set up" to fail.
the markets are an open format for capitalist's to take advantage of.

GREAT - can't wait to learn more. Are you a day trader? or do you hold on to stuff for a while? I don't have the time to watch stocks constantly to see what they're doing so I buy and hold but I somehow get the feeling the day traders make the better money...

I used to get them - lots of aura, flashing lights to the point that you can't drive or even see straight and then the pounding headache...what works best for me is Aspirin as soon as I feel it coming on - usually knocks it out. My doctor advised me that, in my case, I should ABSOLUTELY NEVER take ergotamine; it is good for some migraines, but not for me - can't remember now the exact reason why so I've never taken it but was thankful for the heads up.
MSG is a terrible trigger for me, as well as yellow/orange food colouring (cheddar cheese), bacon (nitrates/nitrites?) and tannins in red wine; sometimes a sudden change in atmospheric pressure. Glad to say that for the past few years, I seem to be suffering from them less and less but I am avoiding my triggers. It might help to keep a diary of what you eat and see if there is any correlation between when they come on and what triggers them...just my 2c - hope that helps!

Watchtower, 2014 and Crooklyn properties
by Alfred inas we approach 2014, the wt appears to be gearing up for what could potentially be the biggest turning point in their 135-year history.
this new york times article talks about a "complicated formula" involving at least two wt properties slated for eventual residential "re-zoning" which will generate significant property tax revenue needed for the brooklyn park project.... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/02/nyregion/housing-deal-for-brooklyn-bridge-park-ensures-parks-completion.html?_r=1.
if anyone comes across any details of this "complicated formula", please do share.... it appears that 2014 will be a very interesting year....

Great news and attitude ..
by Dudu ini had a great news at work, i will have few more responsabilities and more money !
:) also, i am starting a new business and i have a couple of clients already, so, i was telling this great news to my jw mom and she told me : dont get too proud of your financial success... be humble , remember is all jehovah's blessing .
i agree that good things are happening to me now, but is also the result of my hard work and responsability, and according to my jw mom i cannot be proud of it??

Yeah, the witnesses think meeting attendance is the only indicator of a person's relationship with the Divine. Nothing could be further from the truth! There's plenty of proud, selfish JW's filling the congs, even without financial achievements!
At least if you can financially look after yourself, you're fulfilling the scripture about being hard-working, always ready to distribute to the needy, instead of being on the receiving end. I've seen Witnesses 'relying on Jehovah', but in reality living off the goodwill of taxpayers and government agencies that take up the slack, while they 'pioneer'!

Anytime! Mothers are always telling people their opinion, so they need to be on the receiving end sometimes!
But seriously you should really be proud of your achievements, starting a new business and already having clients - what could possibly be wrong with that?

Typical JW mindset - frown and pooh-pooh everything not WT related. Tell her thanks for her advice. You'll be so humble she won't hear anything about your achievements from here on in. Then, stick to it and don't let her know anything more. In future, always answer "My humble attitude and gratitude for all Jehovah has given me precludes me from sharing any information about any success I experience in life." That ought to teach her!

What's The Worst Thing About Being A Witness?
by minimus infor me, a jehovah's witness does not have a real life!
jw's are like trained soldiers.
they could be fervent or lax or happy or unhappy in their role but they are trained to drone on like stepford wives.. what an utter waste of an existence being a jehovah's witness!.

Never being able to realize one's full potential. The religion stifles just about every creative endeavour for one reason or another.
Also for all the talk about living with 'eternity in view', it seemed life was just filling in the days between meetings - the ALMIGHTY meetings that had to be attended. I never thought about a future, about a retirement, about a career, all for the sake of the meetings that absolutely nothing could interfere with. With no meetings in sight now, I think ahead in months and years, and it feels GOOD! (The WBTS talks out of both sides of their mouth - while saying the system's end is around the corner, they nevertheless plan years in advance when it comes to construction/land acquisition etc.)
